Focus and Scope

HERALD OF KYIV NATIONAL LINGUISTIC UNIVERSITY. Series in Philology publishes high-quality, double-blind peer reviewed, OPEN access manuscripts (including articles, reviews, opinions, etc.), sent from scholars in the following sectors of linguistics: current issues of linguistics and translation studies including the topical issues of Germanic, Romance, Asian and African, Slavonic and other languages; it also deals with the problems of second language acquisition, particularly the tendencies and regularities of native language reproduction by foreign language learners.

Peer Review Process

Articles published in the journal are double-blind reviewing.

The editorial staff shall ensure that there is no conflict of interest between the reviewer and the author of the peer reviewed work. Any form of plagiarism ("ghostwriting") and "authenticism" ("guest autorship") will be recognized as a manifestation of scientific unfairness.

All submitted articles are tested for plagiarism using the Unicheck system.

Open Access Policy

This magazine practices a policy of immediate open access to published content, supporting the principles of the free dissemination of scientific information and the global exchange of knowledge for the sake of universal social progress.

Herald of KNLU. Series in Philology is officially registered journal in the field of "Studies in Philology", certificate No. 8830, series KV, June 3, 2004 (Act of the Presidium of the Supreme Attestation Committee No. 1-05/3, April 14, 2010 // SAC of Ukraine Bulletin. – 2010. – No. 5).

The journal is registered by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (Certificate of State Registration of the Print Media KV No. 8830, 03 June, 2004).

Officially registered (Appendix No 8 to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No 1328, 21 December, 2015) the journal  is added to the Category B in the List of scientific professional publications of Ukraine, which are authorized to publish the results of doctoral and candidate’s theses in Philology, specialty 035 according to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine No 1643, 28 December, 2019

Focus and Scope: The journal  publishes papers and reviews of the books that address topical issues in contemporary linguistics and translation studies in Germanic, Romance, Slavic, Oriental, and other languages, as well as the latest researches in Cognitive Linguistics, Comparative-Historical Linguistics, Communicative Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Linguocultural Studies, Text Linguistics, Psycholinguistics, Pragmatics, Semiotics, and Philosophy of Language.

Manuscript languages: Ukrainian, English, Russian, Polish, Czech, German, and French.

The aim of the journal is to publicise and promulgate the findings in the sphere of philological sciences.

The objectives of the journal are: 1) to inform the reader about breakthrough achievements in the field of linguistics, linguoculturology, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, and translation studies; 2) to broach actual issues of modern linguistics and invite authors to consider them in the studies; 3) to coordinate the work of scholars for further communication and networking; 4) to popularize the journal in modern academia and expand its indexing in home and foreign academic databases; 5) to foster international cooperation; 6) to pursue high academic standards of publications; 7) to provide for qualified reviewing, proofreading, and editing of the articles; 8) to guarantee academic ethics and maintain academic integrity.

Open-access Statement: The journal provides immediate open access to its content. Full-text access to scientific articles of the journal is presented on the official website in the Archives section.

Publishing Ethics: Herald of Kyiv National Linguistic University. Series in Philology uses a double-blind reviewing process. In order to ensure that the content published is original and trustworthy each paper passes through plagiarism screening system Unicheck.
