The article deals with an attempt to single out verbal representations of marginality
in French novels of the 20th century, to prove the productivity of using specific linguopoetic means
in portraying marginality as well as to analyse peculiarities of their using by different authors.
We found out that each author invokes specific themes and finds his own linguistic and stylistic
means to represent marginality in fictional text.
