Keywords:
noun, adjective, socio-ethical portrait, warrior, Kyiv Rus’Abstract
The research focuses on the fragment of the early East Slavic world view, directly linked to the thinking and socio-ethical priorities of a mediaeval person. The quantitative and semantic volume, functions of nouns and adjectives that simulate the socio-ethical portraits of the warriors in East Slavic literary monuments of XI–XIII centuries (the Lavrenty, the Galicia-Volyn chronicles etc.) were determined. It is proved that there is a clear pattern in using of laudatory epithets-definitions (хърабърыи, дьрзыи, оудалыи etc.) next to the names of the warriors.Downloads
