Abstract

This article focuses on the investigation methodology of character’s nonverbal
emotional responses on the material of modern English fictional discourse. The main results of Ukrainian nonverbal semiotics school in nominative and discoursive studies are summarized, discursive potential of communicants’ nonverbal stimulus-response behaviour in dialogical discourse is determined; criteria of English fiction analysis and nonverbal emotional responses nomination are singled out.
