Abstract

The article analyzes different ways to linguists’ interpretation of the concept
of “grammatical category” terminology and its expression in the scientific literature; found the reasons for the ambiguous understanding of specified concepts and related terms. Particular attention is paid to the definition of “grammatical category” term in morphology as one of the main sections of grammar. Characterized various conceptual ways of research grammatical structure of the language, set the modern tendency to solve the problem of the ambiguity of the term “grammatical category” in Ukrainian linguistics.
