Abstract

This article focuses upon the new integrated approach to the comparative study of anthropocentric metaphors and similes in the Ukrainian and English languages. According to the anthropocentric theory, the linguoaxiological nature of Ukrainian and English anthropocentric metaphors and similes were determined in the article. Тhe linguistic units under investigation have been classified in lexical and semantic space of zoonims. Common and divergent motivations of axiological meanings in the internal and external forms of Ukrainian and English axiologically marked anthropocentric metaphors and similes were identified in the article.
