Abstract

The article examines the mechanisms of sign formation of paremias (proverbs) with the semantics of forecast based on folk beliefs and superstitions. It has been pointed out that the process of lingual semiosis of language units reflects their invariant-variant nature, motivation, formulaic character, associativity, situation and temporality. These language signs
demonstrate the particular correlation between expression and content planes.
