Abstract

The paper deals with the determination of the opposition types and means of its expression in the modern Russian language. Two main types such as opposition towards one actant and opposition towards two actants were analyzed. Based on the main considered types the following subtypes were singled out: opposition within one period of time and opposition at different times. The lexical and the syntactical means of the opposition expression in the modern Russian language were defined.
