Abstract

The article deals with the study of the concept WORK verbalized in modern British autobiographical novels. The semantic layer of concept WORK with the influence of gender factor on it has been analyzed. The article represents the mechanism of expression of semantic attributes of the concept from reconstructed conceptual metaphors of man`s and woman`s texts. The significant impact has been established on the semantic content of the investigated concept`s layer with the gender factor. The significantly greater number of semantic attributes has been found in analysis of conceptual metaphors reconstructed from the memories of men and women.
